At day 30, the survival rate was 71.6%. One complication was reported (perforation).

These include the evaluation of structural heart diseases, congenital heart diseases, peri-procedural electrophysiology applications, and the functional evaluation of ischemia. This breadth requires a robust and diverse training curriculum to ensure graduates of CCT training programs meet minimum competency standards for independent CCT interpretation. This statement from the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography aims to supplement existing societal training guidelines by providing a curriculum and competency framework to inform the development of a comprehensive, integrated training experience for cardiology and radiology trainees in CCT.The COVID19 pandemic has shifted the paradigm of how outpatient clinics are delivered within CF care, resulting in a significant reduction of patient visits to CF centres. This report examines why it is important to maintain optimal sputum microbiology and explores (i). the microbiological efficiency of postal submission of sputum specimens from the community and (ii) the regulatory conditions that must be met through postal submission of respiratory specimens. This female infant with antenatally diagnosed cystic fibrosis developed respiratory distress by three weeks of age. On lower airway examination she was found to have severe left main stem bronchomalacia causing left upper lobe hyperinflation and subsequent right upper lobe collapse. By eight weeks of age she developed life-threatening respiratory failure requiring high pressure invasive ventilation. A biodegradable bronchial stent was inserted to the left main bronchus at thirteen weeks of age with successful extubation from invasive respiratory support four days later. A second biodegradable stent was inserted nine weeks later, due to persistent bronchomalacia following stent degradation and redevelopment of oxygen requirement. She was discharged home off all respiratory support eight weeks later and has remained well, requiring no further surgical intervention for bronchomalacia to date, now age three years.Gynecologic brachytherapy is an essential component in the curative treatment of cervical cancer. With the decline in brachytherapy utilization, gynecologic brachytherapy simulators are being used to provide a mechanism to enhance proficiency-based resident training. However, most models that have been used lack procedural fidelity as they are either repurposed from OB/GYN basic models or from physics phantoms. Therefore, we set out to develop a high-fidelity, ultrasound- and CT-compatible gynecologic brachytherapy training simulator.
Based on prior experience with gynecologic training simulators on the market, we developed a wish list for an ultrasound-compatible brachytherapy training model. A custom simulator was developed based on an existing pelvic ultrasound trainer. Features included a cervical os and endometrial canal as well as a palpable and hypoechoic cervical tumor.

Enterotomy was necessary to treat the occlusion.Second primary nonlymphoid malignancies (SPNLM) have long been recognized as a complication of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
A search was made of our cytopathology database for cases of CLL that also contained a SPNLM.
Seventeen cases from 13 known CLL patients [MF = 2.31; age range 47-77 years, x = 67 years] met criteria for this study. SPNLMs consisted of different forms of metastatic carcinoma (10 patients) and malignant melanoma (3). Of 16 FNA biopsies and 1 pleural fluid, 82% had ancillary testing; 35% had the specimen subdivided for both flow cytometry (FCM) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Lymph node was the most common site for FNA biopsy (12), followed by face (2), and soft tissue (2). Squamous cell carcinoma was the most common SPNLM (6), followed by melanoma (3), and there were single cases of adenocarcinoma, large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and papillary thyroid carcinoma. A correct specific cytologic diagnosis was made in 15 (88%) cases.
Cytopathology is highly proficient in recognizing SPNLM in CLL patients.
